Business Controller

Purpose of Position: The European Manager Finance Business Support will focus on planning, analysis, management reporting of Finance business support functions supporting the European Finance Director Business Support role.

Primary Accountabilities:

* To manage and assist the company in respect of the Financial Business Support function of
the European Headquarters;
* Organize and execute an effective month end process within the International close calendar
in relation to Financial KPI reporting for the Finance Business Support organization;
* To provide the business with up to date information on the progress of its initiatives and
organizational development;
* Preparation and reporting of various financial analysis both on a cycle basis and on an ad
hoc basis;
* Ensures all customers (internal and external) are supported and maintained in an efficient
and consistent manner, and that any issues are resolved quickly, with minimum disruption
and according to defined performance targets;
* Identifies areas for improvement, looking at broader process and work methods that will
benefit the wider audience - i.e. Office Depot, the vendor community and customer base.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

* Bachelor or master degree in Business Economics;
* At least 5-8 years of professional work experience, preferable in a multi-national or US
company;
* Strong skills in Excel and financial packages;
* Understanding key metrics that drive financial performance;
* Significant understanding of the relationship between the P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and
key business metrics;
* Significant experience with analysis and reporting on key ratios, including the components of
ROIC and EVA;
* Ability to provide accurate and timely information;
* Ability to use financial systems to obtain relevant financial information;
* Fluent in both written and verbal English. Dutch would also be a distinct advantage.
